one of the first survey firms in Minnesota to embrace the use of GPS when 3
Leica GPS receivers were purchased in 1994. Since then Kemper and Associates has
purchased 5 additional real time duel frequency units including two of Leica's
latest 1200 models which utilize the Minnesota Department of Transportation
Virtual Reference Network for use in acquiring high quality GPS positions
throughout Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin in a rapid time and efficient manner
without the need to set up base stations. We also were one of the first in
Minnesota to utilize electronic levels and have two Leica levels which read and
electronically record level note measurements from scanning a bar-coded staff.
Kemper and Associates relies on the expertise of our staff to perform the
wide range of professional surveying services for our clients. We
strive to meet every project's specific needs with state of the art surveying
equipment and computer applications. Today's ever rising costs in real estate
demand the most precise survey possible. Our wide range of services includes
complete boundary services and legal descriptions, subdivision platting and
design, construction layout, topographic mapping and site design/grading plans.
- Land Boundary Surveys
- A boundary is a natural or artificial separation marking the border of
two adjacent properties. The responsibility of the professional land
surveyor is to carry out field surveys of these boundaries, to calculate
dimensions and areas, to prepare maps showing the lengths and directions of
boundary lines and the areas of lands, and to write legal descriptions for
conveyances of lands from one party to another.
- Subdivision Platting and Design
- In a growing and thriving community, the value of land increases
steadily. To regulate development and to ensure orderly change, platting
provides an orderly manner of describing tracts of land.
- Construction Layout
- Surveying is an integral part of the construction process. The detailed
methods used on construction surveys vary with the type, location, and size
of the structure, as well as the preference of the construction
organization. One thing remains the same, however: the need for the
ingenuity on the part of the surveyor, to ensure that the correct
information is given without confusion or needless effort.
- Topographic Mapping
- A topographic map shows the configuration of the earth's surface, or
relief, and includes natural features such as hills, valleys, trees, and
streams, as well as man-made changes such as buildings, roads, canals and
cultivation. Topographic maps, distinguished by the depiction of terrestrial
relief, are used in many ways. They are an essential aid in the design of
engineering projects requiring consideration of land forms, elevations or
gradients.
- Site Design/Grading Plans
- To utilize a property's potential to the fullest extent, well conceived
site designs and careful planning ensure proper drainage from the property
and proposed structure and results in a functional and attractive completed
project.
- ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys
- ALTA (or American Land Title Association and American Congress on
Surveying and Mapping) Surveys set forth strict minimum standard detail
requirements to be complied with. These types of surveys are most often
required for commercial transactions and are requested by the lending
institution or title insurance company.
- Cell Phone Tower & Pipeline Surveys
- These are just two of the specific applications for which Kemper &
Associates has many years of experience. These surveys may include stakeout
for new projects as well as Asbuilt Surveys for existing physical
improvements.
